Kochi
Kochi

Kochi is a small area which was once bestowed to a member of the royal family. Kochi later expanded to form a kingdom and then the state of Cochin. It has gradually developed into a centre of trade and colonial rule, and eventually shrank in dimension, but not in its importance as it evolved into the modern town of Kochi as known today. Also known as the queen of the Arabian Sea, Kochi’s charm is manifold.

Alleppey
Alleppey

Its criss-crossing canals and once busy waterways inevitably evoke comparisons with Venice. It is a prosperous trading town of yesteryears, which exported coir products to different parts of the world. Today tourism has appeared as its new savior. The old settlers have left behind the architectural treasures which include the numerous old mansions and trading houses built in a unique style. These buildings, along with the quiet streets and winding canals, lend this pretty town its distinguishing allure.

Peermede

The sprawling estates of tea, coffee, cardamom, rubber and eucalyptus surround this charming hill station, once famous as the summer retreat of the Travancore Kings. Peermede’s history is also closely linked to that of the Sufi saint, Peer Mohammad, belived to be the first trader of spices in the region.

Vagamon

The pristine forests, exotic flora and fauna and the verdant meadows characterize Vagamon. Vagamon is located 1,100 m above sea level on the western fringe of Idduki and bordering Kottayam. The Vagamon mountain range was cleared by the early planters for the cultivation of tea and coffee.
